What is Dungeon of the Mists?

Dungeon of the Mists is an unlicensed spiritual successor to Castle of the Winds, originally envisioned as a pair of hapless merchants gathering spare loot from a derelict dungeon. "No risk, all reward!"

How To Play

Tap the screen or use arrow keys to move. Equip items in the Inventory, use spells from your Spellbook, and gather as much loot as possible.

Stat Growth

Stats grow based on your play style and experiences.
  • Melee combat trains your Strength
  • Ranged attacks train Dexterity
  • Reading spells trains Intelligence
  • Receiving damage improves your Constitution

How Do I Save?

Progress is automatically saved. Your info only syncs to the server when you Recall out of the dungeon.
Your equipment is marked with Repo for death recovery when you descend into the dungeon.

Enemy Scaling

Enemies get stronger as you get stronger.

Loot Scaling

Loot quality improves as your equipment improves. This keeps the loot tables relevant through multiple dives.

About the Author

Robert Allen of ZingLab grew up playing Castle of the Winds (1 and 2) and has been chasing that high ever since. Dungeon of the Mists is a love letter, an homage, a tribute to the spirit of adventure.
